The key to my success as a tutor is my empathy, which I acquired through firsthand experience:
I know what it’s like to not understand things the same way (nor as quickly) as the other kids
I grew up struggling with learning disabilities.
Every year was a battle to not be held back a grade.
Nevertheless, I finished high school at the very top of my class at Nightingale-Bamford in Manhattan…
…and with admittance to my dream school, Columbia, to study math and engineering.
Now, nothing makes me happier than sharing the secrets to my success!!!

I ultimately found my academic success by working WITH my learning differences, NOT against them.
With the help of some wonderful people who did not give up on me, I figured out methods that work for me to overcome my stumbling blocks.
Moreover, I was able to identify the strengths that come along with each of my difficulties.
In this way, I was able to reframe each stumbling block as a superpower, and free myself from not only the technical setbacks of my difficulties, but from the frustration and shame they initially brought me as well.
Now, I use the same strategy with my students.
